L'évolution du système de santé en France

Exemple marseillais avec le témoignage d'une personne directement concernée :

Standards vary in French and British hospitals

I share enthusiasm coming from somebody for treatment in French hospitals, having lived in France for 15 years and undergone several procedures.

However, there is one thing to note. In May last year, my husband was diagnosed as having a brain tumour. We had private health insurance and when it was no longer possible for him to cope at home - he would have needed two nurses full-time - he was moved to a room in the local hospice, and monitored by the large general hospital at Marseille, which we visited by ambulance for check-ups.

We received wonderful, compassionate treatment from everyone. One day, though, I was asked to call in at the administrator's office and was told that a new law had come into operation, called the Journalier, which meant that all clinics and hospitals had, from that day on, to charge for daily meals.

So from then until my husband died some months later, there was a weekly sum to pay of €112 (about £89). When I queried this, the insurance company simply said it was a new law and not within their remit.

Of course, I paid up. It just seemed to me an extraordinary law to bring in. If you did not pay, would the patient not be fed ?

LA différence entre la civilisation et la barbarie

Tan amado,

cette question, posée par l'anglaise pose bien le problème : et si je n'avais pas payé, on ne l'aurait pas nourri ?

Toute la différence entre la civilisation et la barbarie...
